
These hills are excellent vantage points for scouts and snipers, but the sky will silhouette them and make them vulnerable to counter fire. The Red Flag base is just outside the view, to the left and the wide southern valley extends directly westward from this point. Red team respawn is behind these hills, giving good protection to the drop point. The southeastern saw-tooth mountains as seen from G-H 5-6, looking east. The terrain is typical of the map in general, with several of these types of ranges dividing the map east to west. The high peaks are accessible only to Jump Jet equipped mechs. The valley extends towards Red base and provides good terrain for movement of heavy units. The operational areas of focus are connected by the wide central valley, within which "Nav Center", at E 5, is located.īlue base is near the center in this view from E 3, looking northeast. The ranges themselves, and their foothills compromise the dominant physical elements, and successful exploitation of them is critical. Other than the mountain ranges themselves, only two small bases exist, and there are no artificial structures to provide cover.

Water can be found near F 3, but this constitutes more a navigational hazard, than a tactical asset. Long range gunnery is possible and effective under such conditions. The visibility is usually good, with light fog being most often encountered. Moderate temperature requires the efficient configuration of energy based mechs. Designed primarily as a 2 team tactical test, the map is remarkably balanced for either team, and command and control of assets will greatly aid any operation.

Crossing these ranges is possible in heavy mechs, even in high country, though these passes can be difficult to locate and time consuming to traverse. Lighter mechs enjoy an advantage due to the steep slopes of the mountains, but areas exist which allow the passage of heavy assault units. The north-south connecting valleys are comprised of very rough foothills, depressions and ridges. The east-west corridors are situated on the valley floors, and constitute the most easily traversed land.
